Law On Decriminalization Of Economic Crimes Was Signed

The law "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine (concerning humanization of the responsibility for violations in the sector of economic activity)" was signed by the President of Ukraine on December, 13, 2011.
The law decriminalizes offences under: part1 article 201 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (CC of Ukraine)-smuggling of goods, article 202; article 203 CC of Ukraine- engagement in prohibited economic activities; article 207 CC of Ukraine-evasion of repatriation of foreign currency proceeds; article 208 CC of Ukraine- illegal opening or use of currency accounts outside Ukraine; article 214 CC of Ukraine- violation of rules related to supply of precious metals and precious stones; article 215 CC of Ukraine- counterfeiting of postage stamps and travel documents (signs); article 217 CC of Ukraine- illegal production, sale or use of state standard mark; article 218 CC of Ukraine- fraudulent bankruptcy; article 220 CC of Ukraine- concealment of lasting financial insolvency; article 221CC of Ukraine- illegal actions in case of bankruptcy; article 223 CC of Ukraine- distribution of securities without registration of their emission; article 225 CC of Ukraine- deceit of customers and clients; article 226 CC of Ukraine- Falsification of means of measurement; article 228 CC of Ukraine- compulsion to anticompetitive concerted actions; article 234 CC of Ukraine- illegal actions in regard of privatization papers; article 235 CC of Ukraine- Failure to comply with mandatory terms of privatization and further use of public or communal property or enterprises.
In addition to decriminalization of articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the law makes changes in the other Codes of Ukraine.
